On one of the first visits for newly elected MP for East Wight, Joe Robertson MP, he joined over 90 guests at the Royal Yacht Club for their annual open day for people with disabilities.
Guests enjoyed trips out on the boats and there was a variety of vessels to take guests out and along Wootton Creek. Over 60 RVYC volunteered on the day, with afternoon tea and cake and gifts for the tombola which took over £300. There was live music throughout the day which was provided by local bands and kept guests entertained even through the rain.
Joe Robertson said, "I was delighted to be invited to an open day for people with disabilities at Royal Victoria Yacht Club. I managed to get out on the water and caught in a rain shower!"
The Royal Victoria Yacht Club has an active membership of around 600 and are open to all. The members are highly enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge. If you want to find out more about joining please see here.
