Dear Business Owner,
Re: Isle of Wight East Small Business Survey
Small businesses like yours are the backbone of the East Wight economy. You provide the jobs, the growth and the revenue that helps our Island thrive. Throughout the General Election campaign, one of my top priorities was promoting businesses and jobs, and this remains the case.
Within the first couple of weeks of entering Parliament, I became a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Hospitality and Tourism in order to work with cross-party MPs to press the Government for more support for the sector and reduce the high tax burden for small businesses to promote jobs and growth. I have now been appointed Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Shadow Department of Culture, Media and Sport team which also covers tourism and the creative industries. With the Labour Government announcing a hike in employer national insurance contributions in the October Budget, I want to hear your views and experiences as a small business in the East Wight.
I want to be able to help you as much as possible, that’s why I am asking you to fill in this survey. Once I have gathered all your views, I’ll share them with the Council, Government and any other organisation that works with our high streets and businesses in order to address and tackle your top concerns. Individual responses will be anonymised if shared.
I’d be most grateful if you could therefore fill in this quick survey.
Yours sincerely,
Joe Robertson MP
