Newly Elected member for East Wight, Joe Robertson, took up his seat on the Ryde Town Board today.
The Ryde Town Board was created after under the previous government they were awarded £20 million to invest for the benefit of the town in accordance with the key themes set out by Department for Levelling up. The investment plans aimed at renewal and regeneration in the local area, transport and connectivity and safety and security.
Joe Robertson said, "I look forward to working with the Chair and Board to deliver for Ryde. While the Board grapples with some of its bigger aspirations I would like to see it moving forward with projects we know can be delivered in shorter timescales. I have been campaigning for a monitored CCTV network and I am glad to see it scored highly on residents' own priorities in the recent consultation. The Board will need to find a way of better engaging with local businesses which will play a key part in the future of Ryde."
