Joe Robertson today expressed strong support for CYCLEWight in its efforts to improve cycling conditions and accessibility on the Isle of Wight, advocating for initiatives that would make cycling a more convenient and enjoyable option for residents and visitors alike. Highlighting the need for accessible, well-designed infrastructure, Joe stressed that fostering a cycle-friendly environment is essential to promoting healthier lifestyles, reducing congestion, and supporting environmental goals.
Robertson commended CYCLEWight’s commitment to enhancing cycling infrastructure and voiced his support for the adoption of Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIP), a strategic move he believes will pave the way for more robust, sustainable transportation options across the Island.
“People are more likely to choose cycling as a viable alternative if it’s safe, accessible, and enjoyable,” Robertson said. “The adoption of the LCWIP is an important step in creating an environment where cycling can thrive as a primary mode of transport. I am pleased to support CYCLEWight’s vision for a more connected and cycle-friendly Isle of Wight.”
Robertson will continue to support CYCLEWight in their efforts to improve cycling infrastructure for all.
