On Thursday evening, Joe Robertson presented GB Boxing Awards on behalf of Community Action Isle of Wight's Bay Youth Project.
The Youth Project offers a range of free positive activities and developmental opportunities for young people aged 10-18 years of age. The weekly sessions are held at TJ's gym for young men and women with funding from Donna Jones - Police Crime Commissioner Hampshire & IOW and the three local Bay Town and Parish Councils.
Joe said, "It was a pleasure to present GB Boxing Awards on behalf of the Bay Youth Project. An enormous well done to all who received their awards, it is a great achievement and hopefully we have some future Olympians in our midst".
Over 150 young people have been engaged in these boxing sessions with 75% progressing through awards system over last 3 years. Currently the three initial (non contact) awards are offered, it is hoped that when the Youth Project moves into Sandown Town hall they will be able to offer amateur boxing classes and therefore further awards.
