The Isle of Wight's Indian community enjoyed a weekend of festivities and were joined by the Deputy High Commissioner of India in the UK, Sujith Ghosh.
Businessman Rajesh Patel organised a party at the Mayfair Hotel in Shanklin which Joe Robertson attended.
Joe Robertson said, "An honour to meet the Deputy High Commissioner of India during his visit to Shanklin. We discussed the importance of strengthening trade links between our two countries and the major contribution made by British Indian communities, particularly to health and social care in the UK."
There were speeches about the positive impact of British Indians in the UK, highlighting trade and work within the NHS.
The Indian Community are currently celebrating Onam Festival - which is a harvest festival from the Kerala Region.
