As a father of two young children and a former school governor, I am serious about improving Island education. That's why I introduced fellow primary school parents to the Education Secretary Gillian Keegan MP so they could raise their concerns direct with Government.
Working with local police, I secured a special grant from the Police and Crime Commissioner which has enabled a new sports programme in Ryde to divert young people away from crime.
I have been leading calls for more genuinely affordable housing for Islanders including affordable rental homes. We secured £40m in the Council’s Budget and published a 5-point action plan for delivery.
As an advisor to a national nursing charity I work professionally alongside the NHS and care providers every day. I have helped secure better care and support for people in their own homes, including here on the Island.
Business investment is key to growing the Island’s economy and creating new jobs and opportunities, particularly for young people and families. I am already supporting our East Wight tourism sector and promoting the Island nationally as a place for businesses and individuals to invest in.
