Joe Robertson MP for Isle of Wight East recently met with Bupa Dental Care in Shanklin to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges facing NHS dental services on the Island.
The meeting highlighted the significant hurdles in increasing the availability of NHS dental appointments, with the recruitment of qualified dentists to the Island emerging as the primary challenge.
Speaking after the visit, Joe said:
"Encouraging qualified dentists to come to the Isle of Wight is a key priority in improving access to NHS dental care. The unique challenges of being an Island require tailored solutions, and I am actively working with the local Integrated Care Board to address these barriers and find practical ways forward."
Joe is committed to working collaboratively with healthcare providers, stakeholders, and the community to ensure better access to vital dental services for residents across the Isle of Wight.
