Joe Robertson MP for Isle of Wight East recently visited the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at St Mary’s Hospital, a transformative addition to healthcare services on the Island.
The new CDC represents a £10 million investment to expand diagnostic capacity, providing faster access to critical tests and earlier diagnoses for patients. This development is expected to significantly improve outcomes for Islanders with long-term health conditions such as cancer, stroke, and cardiovascular disease.
Commenting on the visit, Joe said:
"The new Community Diagnostic Centre is a game-changer for healthcare on the Isle of Wight. This investment will make a real difference by improving early diagnosis and access to care, helping to save lives and enhance the quality of life for many residents."
During the visit, Joe also toured ongoing work at St Mary’s Hospital funded by a £48 million wider investment. This funding aims to modernize and enhance the hospital’s facilities, ensuring a better healthcare experience for Islanders.
Joe remains committed to supporting initiatives that improve healthcare outcomes and deliver tangible benefits for the Isle of Wight community.
