Joe Robertson MP has been actively discussing the upcoming School Place Planning decision with local school activists. Recently, he met with Nick Binfield, a parent, teacher, and campaigner dedicated to keeping Brading Primary open.
"This week, there is a chance for the public to question councillors directly," said Robertson. "On Tuesday at 5pm, the Corporate Scrutiny Committee will meet, and on Thursday at 5pm, the Cabinet will decide which schools will move on to the next stage of the closure process. Both meetings will have a public question time at the beginning, held at County Hall."
Robertson has written to the Isle of Wight Council outlining his concerns for Brading, Wroxall, and Oakfield schools, each of which he believes has a strong case to remain open. "I am committed to supporting these schools and ensuring that the voices of parents, teachers, and the community are heard," he added.
