Joe Robertson alongside Isle of Wight West MP, Richard Quigley have promised to work together on one of the biggest issues raised by islanders - the ferries and cross-Solent transport. Following Joe's election he wrote a letter to the Secretary of State for Transport and following this he met with the governments new frontbench to highlight the increasing issues Islanders face with cross-Solent travel.
Joe said:
"There will be an integrated rail transport bill later this year which presents a genuine opportunity to try and include ferry regulation as part of the Government’s wider transport plans. I pressed the case for Government interventions so that we are no longer beholden to an unregulated market where making money for shareholders is the primary objective. That is the goal."
