Joe Robertson visited residents and staff at Poplar Lodge assisted living in Bembridge, run by the Abbeyfield Living Society.
Poplar Lodge is a not for profit sheltered housing scheme which supports older people to live health, happy and independent lives. Polar Lodge provides housing and support to 9 older people. The residence can retain their independence while enjoying the benefits of living in an environment built on values of companionship and community, with access to communal living and dining areas, nutritious home cooked meals and a varied activities schedule.
Joe said, "It was great to visit Poplar Lodge around their Starts at Home Day and it was a great opportunity to hear from the residents about their experience of living with the staff and how they are supported. One of my top campaign priorities was social care and support in the community. I have already had several meetings with the charity sector and want to work constructively with the Government to deliver on adult health and social care reforms."
