Joe Robertson MP for Isle of Wight East honoured the sacrifices of service personnel by participating in a tribute at Parliament’s Garden of Remembrance.
The House of Commons has established three Gardens of Remembrance, each adorned with stakes representing the 650 UK constituencies, Crown Dependencies, Commonwealth countries, and British Overseas Territories. As part of the solemn ceremony, Joe planted a poppy cross to commemorate those from East Wight who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect democratic freedoms and to honour those who continue to serve today.
Speaking about the experience, Joe said:
"It was a profound honour to plant a poppy cross on behalf of East Wight in recognition of the brave men and women who have served our country and defended our freedoms, often at great personal cost. Their courage and sacrifice must never be forgotten."
