Joe Robertson, Member of Parliament for Isle of Wight East, has today announced the winners his East Wight School Christmas Card Competition.
Following stiff competition and many brilliant entries from primary schools across East Wight, four winners were chosen. These were: Charlie Evans, aged 9, from Wroxall Primary School; Emerson Shay Greer, aged 7, from Dover Park Primary School; and Etta & Ted Newnham, both aged 10, from Gatten and Lake Primary School.
Following the competition, which Joe launched at Brading Primary School in November, Joe presented the winning cards to the Speaker of the House of Commons, who was impressed at range of the designs. The cards will now be sent by Joe to various recipients across the Island and Westminster- including the design by Etta Newnham which will be sent to His Majesty King Charles III.
Following the result of the competition, Joe Robertson MP said, “I am grateful to all the school children that have entered the competition- the standard was really impressive.
“It was incredibly difficult to choose, but in the end, Charlie, Emerson, Etta, & Ted’s designs were chosen to feature on my Christmas cards this year. I would like to thank all the children who took part and look forward to seeing more lovely designs in next year's competition!"
