Joe Robertson, newly elected member for East Wight, recently met with Cllr Jonathan Bacon (Cabinet Member for Children Services) and Ashley Whittaker (Director of Children's Services) at the Council to discuss challenges and opportunities that the Island faces.
The Isle of Wight Council has a statutory duty to ensure the sufficiency of school places for children living on the Isle of Wight. The Council is working with local communities to ensure there is appropriate local school provision.
As an MP Joe Robertson is able to support the Council and communities as they navigate a way forward through the school place planning due to the oversupply of school places and declining birth rate.
