Joe Robertson MP recently met with Ryan from Alzheimer’s Research UK, the leading dementia research charity in the UK, to discuss the roadmap for the NHS 10-Year Health Plan. The meeting focused on exploring ways to increase funding for research, treatments, and a potential cure for dementia.
"It was a pleasure meeting with Ryan from Alzheimer’s Research UK," said Robertson. "We discussed the pressing need for a comprehensive cross-governmental strategy to prevent ill health. Currently, dementia costs £22.7 billion annually in social and informal care, adding significant pressure on social care providers."
Robertson emphasized the importance of a coordinated approach to address the challenges posed by dementia. "I look forward to collaborating with Alzheimer’s Research UK in my role on the Government Health and Social Care Committee," he added. "Drawing on my experience from my time spent working for Dementia UK before becoming an MP, I am committed to advocating for increased funding and support for dementia research and care."
