Joe Robertson attended the annual Garlic Festival at the Fighting Cocks Crossroad at the weekend in the beautiful sunshine, where all things garlic related were celebrated.
The Garlic Festival is now famous for its abundance of wonderful food producers and has been going since 1983. The Garlic Festival is the Island's biggest summer show, with live music, arena entertainment, live shows and fantastic food. At the heart of the festival, the garlic that is produced on the Isle of Wight by the multi award winning Garlic Farm is on show.
The Garlic festival is a great opportunity for local businesses to showcase their local produce - with plenty of garlic related foods including bread and scones.
There was not just garlic at the festival, with Joe Robertson taking a particular interest in the Rolls-Royce ice cream van! Alongside the garlic there was free arts and crafts, airstream stage with magic and a Fun Dog show both days.
Joe Robertson said, "It is great to see the Garlic Festival return to Newchurch for another year. I met up with local councillors and enjoyed a pint of local ale. It is important to me that we support our local businesses that are the lifeblood of our economy on East Wight".
