This week, Joe Robertson MP met with representatives from Ofwat in Westminster and Southern Water on the Island to address the critical issue of raw sewage release. During these meetings, Robertson emphasized the urgent need to continue efforts to end the discharge of raw sewage into rivers and seas.
"People should be confident that our rivers and seas are clean," said Robertson. "Water companies have a responsibility to fix this issue without passing on all the costs to consumers."
Robertson highlighted the upcoming decision by Ofwat regarding the investment required from Southern Water. He is advocating for a substantial investment of £200 million to be directed towards improving water quality on the Island.
